The relation between pathohistological and operative findings were observed on 174 of acute appendicitis
The results were as follows,
1) Catarrhal type 31.0%(54 cases), Suppurative and phlegmonous type 36.8%(64 cases), gangrenous type 21.3% (37 cases), perforated type 6.3% (11 cases), and normal appendix 4.6% (8 cases) were classified pathohistologically.
2) Appendiceal contents revealed fecal material, fecalith, and pus in 60.4%.
3) Incidence of stenosis and obstruction of the appendix was 48.9%.
4) Regional adhesion revealed to 41.9%. It was appeared higher incidence according to the progressive type of apendicitis.
5) Incidence of the movable cecum was 6.9% (12 cases), swelling of the regional lymphnode showed 13.2% (23 cases), and auto-division of the appendix was never seen.
